I've learned since my older account, that being active with your members and responding to every comment allows your watchers to feel more welcome to your page and invite questions. Consequently, it also invites users who feel they can take advantage of your friendliness to ask for 'requests', or suggest ideas that they 'would love to see' or even argue with your opinions without reading your FAQ, and forgetting that your life is NOT devoted to one online website.
I follow a strict belief of not judging others, but that does not mean I am not skeptical of online users. We are all practically strangers to each other, even if I have chatted with you for a few years online, I have the right to not talk or interact with people that make me feel uncomfortable. People often pool the 'I've spoken to you online before, now we're homies' card and think they're guaranteed an art trade or an eternal friendship....no....no. Do not fool yourself. And do not try and guilt trip me.
Treating everyone with respect - anonymous or not should not be a call for friendship, rather it should be a human right. So don't mistake general kindness and respect for something personal.
Please. I hate turning down people and I hate having to censor my feelings to accommodate some strangers'.
What is your opinion on the level of professionalism between artist and watcher? We know to not to give into every whim of a watcher, but where do you draw the line? Do you have to constantly come up with professional excuses to reject someone casually? Or just not respond to their comment?

Time for a Life Update
So I've been doing pretty good since my last journal entry. :)
I've scored two Graphic Design jobs. One that I work on remotely, and the other part-time at an office. I've also switched my science degree to one in Animation. I've decided to make design my full time career and to master the industry (nothing gonna stop me). I've had opportunity after opportunity to develop and I'm not going to let it go to waste. I'm also travelling interstate with my cousin for the first time to exhibit and present at a conference on my work. It's a big leap. Speaking from 20-30 people to 2000-3000. Wish me the best in shaa Allah.
I can't help but really th
getting serious
The concept of investing and talking financial advisors has been on my head for awhile. So a long with a few other changes occuring over the new year, there's a lot I want to plan for, but I need to set the time to make sure all my goals are practical. The ultimate goal over the next few years is to save as much money and develop several sources of positive income (im in economics mode at the moment) in order to make my goals tangible in shaa Allah (God willing). It's a bit hard striving for balance, because you don't want the pursuit of money or materialism to consume you, so I hope all the best. I also just finished applying for several job
what are your art goals?
As part of making a more active presence on dA, I will be writing more lengthy blogs. Not like on my old account, but to stir up convo. Part of the dA environment is to make contact with other artists. People of the same level, people better than you, and people that can learn from you. We push each other to grow together and its essentially the community I'd like to be with. Casual chat is all well and good, but I'd like critique when I post a new artwork, I'd like people to show me their new works, people to discuss different styles and what they've explored. Anime is one element, and one hardly learns proper growth only drawing that (somet
Yo guys
I'm slowly making my way back on to the deviantart scene after being inactive for so long. It's a matter of really missing the community on here and being surrounded by other artists that I really missed. I hope you can make room for my big head and help to make coming back that little easier.
My plans? I plan on working on my story a little more, and I want to indulge in some fanart again (digi, poke, atla) and just overall catch up with everyone I used to talk with.

Hmmm...
1st: I think an artist should reply to comments and such. I mean, myself I am trying to be an active watcher, but do you know those artists who get 5 comments on a piece and can't even reply to those? There I don't waste my time trying to come up with a decent comment becaus I simply feel ignored. And yes, I reply to all comments I get, no matter how long it takes.
2nd: I agree that talking a few times online really does not make someone a friend, and yes, it's annoying if people try to guilt trip one. If people simply ask for a favour it's okay to me, but then they have to accept a no. I take commissions, and work whenever I have time. That easy. And just a few days ago I had someone who did NOT accept a no and started a big drama of 'Oh my god I am in a such a pain because no one does my request!' And this person started to say stuff like 'we are all humans, we must be nice to eachother, we are like one family', and I seriously was like what the f*ck?! I won't let any stranger call me their sister just because they want something! o.O And oh, after saying I only do requests for close friends, what do you think I got to hear? 'we could get to know each other now!'... Yeah... Ridiculous...
